Do low frequencies make you see ghosts?

Heard about this years ago - (how certain frequencies can cause your eyeballs to resonate, making you think you see movement in your peripheral vision). But is this true, or as real as the South Park brown noise?
Read this to find out?

Beavis and Butt-head return!

Yes! Yes! YESSSSSSS! I AM CORNHOLIO!....... heh heh, huh huh huh...
Accordin to the New York Post, Mike Judge has confirmed they're making new episodes. Just as a taster, here's a trailer for his film from last year, staring everybody's favourite frog baseball players.

Drum machine or click track?

Was put onto this a couple of days ago. Want to know if a click track or drum machine was used?......
Head to In Search of the Click Track, put in the band and track title, and it'll give you a plot of timing fluctuation...
A score above 90% probably means a click track was used. It's got some pretty obscure stuff in there, and gets a little confused at times, but it's worth a few minutes of your time.

Awesome touch-screen for Traktor

Yeah, take all those iPads, Lemurs, and any other piece of crap they have been trying to pass for a touch-controller until now and throw them all away.

This is the future.

Or rather, maybe not, but it sure should be.
In fact what it should be is just like this, except without a touch surface but just projected in thin air and then waving your hands through the projection (I have seen demos of something like that before, but I couldn't find links to that now).

Anyway, I am digressing. Watch this video but don't keep the volume of your computer too high or you will miss the sound of your jaw dropping.

Finished? Good. Now join the club of those asking how much will it cost and where do I get one. It's a very popular club, we're there too.

Some details can be found on this website, and immediately things start sounding less exciting than we hoped. Some guy developed this technology to work as an interface between you and a dj software. It's a few dollars per year to buy (or lease?) the licence to turn any windows powered touch-screen laptop in to a stupid controller for Traktor. So you need a laptop with touch-screen and it will only act as a controller for one specific application, but not on Macs. Which is rubbish already, and it gets worse where no more details are provided of this gorgeous screen being used in the demo. This apparently is a prototype and not planned for production.

So ok, it aint' gonna happen this year, maybe not even next year. Still, watch this movie again and ask yourself what it would be like to have this interface. Think about how a regular powerpoint presentation about sales this quarter or health and safety on the workplace would still make you look like a demi-god.
Please, someobody, somewhere, make this happen. And then let's talk about an installment plan. I am starting to save money now.

addictive sound balls pulsate

Well, maybe not as interesting as you might be led to believe from the title of this post, but I promise you it is beautifully addictive.
Add 'Pulsate' to the list of cool things that your eyePod can't do (yes, it's another Flash application) and dedicate a computer to run this web application 24 hours a day, connected to speakers in your zen garden. That's what I am going to do.

Thanks to Andrew Wood for sending me this link.

Herbie and Quincy...sound like geek names?

I just came across this and I must say there's been quite an improvement from the early days for fans of the wonderful Synthesizer... Just watch this nerdy pair get excited over electric signal shaping and manipulation, the legends that are Herbie Hancock and Quincy jones here and talking about the user interface of a synthesizer and experimenting with a patch or two haha...and that was then imagine what they'd be like now!

Another great way to pass the hour(s)... looplabs: a free online music mixing software, created by CRASH!MEDIA.

Features include multi-channel mixing of up to 32 channels, MP3 sampling/triggering/remixing, complete load/save/vote functionality, audio recording capabilities, sequencing, output audio to WAV/MP3 files, ring-tone creation and output, video mixing capabilities and integration, multiuser collaborative music environments, stereo FX processing, drum and rhythm pattern machine, crossfading, etc.

Ok, so I'm probably selling it for more than it's worth... but the point is, it's good fun, and a great way to waste time. Find out, here.

CRASH!MEDIA's projects are generally cool. They are an interactive entertainment agency, and it's worth checking out their website to find out what they've been and are involved in.

Orange PC and Boss mouse?

So you've probably seen the Orange amplifiers OPC - a PC in an orange amplifier combo? If not, check it out here. Well, I've found the perfect accompaniment - the Roland DS-1. Looks like a distortion pedal, clicks like a mouse!

Can't find this anywhere on the Roland or Boss sites, but here it is on Music Radar..
