One of our students works in a group called Killer Whale who reinterpret Arthur Russell's music, really finding the dance floor sensibility in his sometimes obscure structures. He was famously given a chance to record for Rough Trade, who were looking for a dance floor smash and instead handed them the polyrhythmic Let's Go Swimming which was so complex you could not dance to it...
